Challenge

We approached Beyond Meat when they first won Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies. We won the account and were tasked with two objectives: telling the revolutionary story of plant protein, an innovation that could drastically decreases global greenhouse gas emissions; and another story of the undeniably delicious taste of a Beyond Meat burger.

Approach

I wrote a brief, storyboard, and V.O. script (left) working closely with my partner (DP and Editor) to make sure we communicated our entire compelling message while shooting a beautiful, emotionally resonant story. Our mission: “to educate and uncover a world of delicious direct-from-the-field plant protein with an emphasis on good people, wholesome processes, and truly tasty flavor.” Filming and interviews brought us from the pea fields of France to the processing plant in Missouri to the flavor lab and family table in Los Angeles.

Results

The “Future of Protein” had 144k views, 2.4k likes, 498 comments and 2.5k shares on Facebook.
